Night-time Bled town across the lake and under a full moon. |
I did not get out much during my recent visit to Slovenia.... but when meetings allowed, I found that Bled is still mighty pretty.
Here are some images of the architecture, the lake, the castle, the little church on the island and some merganzers.
The remarkable blue-green lake of clear water is warmed by thermal springs.
Ancient barn in an older part of the town - surrounding buildings date from the 1700s, perhaps the barn too. |
One of the many pletnas (or gondolas) on the Lake taking people out to Bled Island. |
A selection of Bled cream cakes. |
Bled castle - high above the lake. It dates from the 11th century. |
A modern villa and guest house |
A modern mansion |
Inside the parish church of St Martins |
