I have just spent almost three weeks in Slovenia, mainly in the picture postcard lake-side town of Bled with its castle on a cliff, church on an island and mountain views. For one exhilarating day I also escaped with colleagues into the countryside and densely forested mountains.
Here are some images - first around Bled.

And next into the countryside;
First along the river through the kharst landscape where rivers appear and disappear in tunnels and caves.

A fine frog - Rana spp |
Next up into the mountains forest where there are beats and wolves and lynx and hares.
(This is a trip along the Masun Trail)
