Here is a village locked in time for some 200 years - although some parts are older, like the Abbey (which is thirteenth century), in the photo immediately below. Its name Laycock comes from its original Saxon settlers who called it 'lacuc' or 'little stream'.
And it has been used as a backdrop for many film and TV productions, including 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' , 'Downton Abbey', Cranford and the BBC’s 'Pride and Prejudice'.
